Mirror tiles and mirrors on foam and clay base

A sculptural wall piece tracing the arc of an inner journey — from darkness into light, from searching into understanding.

The form resembles two mirrored currents crossing in motion, covered in mosaic tiles of black and silver mirror. Within each, small reflective insets mark moments of revelation — fragments of awareness that punctuate the ongoing flow of life.

The darker form represents the early search: a time of uncertainty and quiet resistance to truth. Its abrupt end symbolizes crisis — the rupture that precedes awakening. From there, a new path begins, rendered in silver, lighter and more fluid, embodying alignment with one’s authentic nature and desires.

Even when we return to familiar places, they are never quite the same — for we ourselves are never the same. The work reflects on this transformation as both inevitable and essential: the continuous renewal of self through reflection, courage, and change.

어둠에서 빛으로, 탐색에서 이해로 나아가는 내면의 여정을 형상화한 조각적 벽 작품이다.

두 개의 곡선 형태가 서로 교차하며 흐르는 듯한 형태로, 검은 거울 타일과 은빛 거울 타일로 구성되어 있다. 각각의 표면에 새겨진 작은 거울 조각들은 삶 속에서 마주하는 깨달음의 순간들 — 흐름 속에서 반짝이는 인식의 조각들을 상징한다.

어두운 형태는 진리를 마주하기를 두려워했던 탐색의 시기를 나타내며, 그 갑작스러운 단절은 위기와 변화를 의미한다. 그 지점에서 새로이 시작되는 은빛의 경로는 자기 본연의 본성과 욕망, 그리고 진정한 목적과 조화를 이루며 살아가는 ‘깨어남’의 상태를 표현한다.

우리가 과거의 장소나 경험으로 되돌아간다 해도, 그것은 더 이상 같은 순간이 아니다. 왜냐하면 우리 자신이 이미 달라져 있기 때문이다. 이 작품은 이러한 변화의 본질 — 성찰과 용기, 그리고 변화를 통해 끊임없이 새로워지는 자아의 여정을 담고 있다.
